But I appreciate and respect her lament of the spirit tolerance we&#039;ve lost, even if she expresses herself, er, colorfully.  This line particularly grabbed me: &quot;We live in America.  Pay attention to everyone.  Americans were never intended to be stifled.  Americans celebrate, and most of us are happy to celebrate yours as well as their own.&quot;

Mamacita&#039;s screed reminds me of another post I read earlier this week over at The Atlantic.com

		<description>Do you really endorse a screed like Mamacita&#039;s? I&#039;m surprised. I&#039;ve been enjoying the blog here, but, sheesh, was that one off-putting. I&#039;ll know better than to click on the next carnival.

Where&#039;s Deadpan Ann? Now &lt;i&gt;that&lt;/i&gt; (her post on speaking in tongues in the classroom) was a worthy link. Very funny. And I say that as someone who grew up not too far at all from Pelahatchie.</description>
