22nd century skills? What IS it all about Alfie? The article I just read on this topic concluded by humorously stating, “Alfie Kohn has recently completed a book called Crime and Punishment. He expects to begin reading another one shortly.” Have got to love this guy. He’s always good for a laugh.

Yes, but in this case he *meant* to be funny.

Even a stopped clock is right twice a day.Unless it is one of those 21st century digital clocks. I predict the collapse of the entire public school system by the end of the century. By then it will be all about the individual student, and each one will receive a custom education crafted by – I want to say parent here – a responsible adult.

TM,
Why shouldn’t it be all about the individual student receiving a custom education today, never mind ninety years from now? What a public relations bonanza that would be for the teaching profession if teachers actually performed this long overdue task. Teachers would finally be viewed as genuine professionals as opposed to the civil servants they have unfortunately be dubbed.
